We are almost all familiar with Geico Insurance and their quirky television advertisements, but how does their website stack up to their successful commercials? For this reviewer I would say pretty well, it is not without its flaws, but as a website in general I have found it to be very user friendly and informative. The site can be found at www.geico.comand offers its customers and potential customers a very quick and easy solution for its insurance needs.
For those of you have not heard of Geico insurance I would first of all welcome you and thank you for taking time to come out of your cave to read this review. Geico is near the top of the pack in national insurance providers, and provides coverage for virtually everything from everyday cars and homes, to the unusual overseas and collectables insurance. With over 75 years in business they are considered a top tier company, with above average customer service, and fair balanced pricing.
As for their website www.geico.com, I have found it a quick easy way to get insurance quotes, report a claim, manage your policy with them, or just get information on the company in general. Upon entering their website you are immediately greeted by their cheerful mascot, the Geico Gecko, who is posed next to the free insurance quote box. Getting a quote from Geico takes mere minutes and their claim that, “15 minutes could save you 15 percent or more on car insurance”, is backed up here. To the right of the free insurance quote box is a login for Geico customers, after entering your username and password you are then able to manage your account, make payments, submit a claim, and more. Below these two boxes are Geico’s “featured products” featuring every type of insurance that they provide, which is a pretty vast selection.
As I said, the site is not without its faults, although these are meager in comparison to the pros of the site. Although Geico is a leader in insurance customer service satisfaction, there are no testimonials on the site, or an area for customers to complain or praise their service such as a rating system. This might be Geico not wanting to seem braggadocios, but in many potential customers want to see what the current customers of the company have to say. There is also very little flare to their homepage, their gecko spokesman is very lively and quick-witted in television commercials, but is a mere statue on the homepage. This probably proves beneficial to users with slower internet connections, and this might be Geico’s intention.
Overall I would give high ratings to the website, and clearly the pros outweigh the cons. With so many insurance providers to compete with, Geico is clearly on the right path. They have chosen substance over flare for their website, which looks to be working for them so far. If you are in the market for auto, home, life, flood, boat, or pretty much any other type of insurance, stop by www.geico.com, they might just be right and you could save money.
